A pair of Osvaldo Borsani P40 Lounge chairs designed in 1954 for Tecno. The P40 Lounge Chair was designed in 1954 by Osvaldo Borsani along with the D70 Sofa. The P40 was based on Borsani's belief that design should spring from technical research. Adjustable to many positions. Manufactured by Tecno of Milan starting in 1954 to the present day, although they cost considerably more new! These chairs have been reconditioned, the fabric and all components are original but the original foam had deteriorated and was replaced by a professional upholsterer with Ultra-Cell Fibre. The original fabric has some areas that are shaded and a few light stains but it was not bad enough to replace. The fabric is green and in the closeup photos you can get a better idea of the true colour. The steel base has minimal wear to the finish and all the original labels are still intact. The rubber arms are still very flexible but do have some visual surface cracking consistent with age. All the brass still has the orignal finish and has been waxed but not polished. Both Chairs operate perfectly.
